Twice a year I frantically wait, (at my computer screen) and wish I was in Paris front row! Seeing the new pieces from the couture collections is really one of my favorite things to do. This year I even got my little babe...Baby K involved. We were both ooooing and aaaaahing with delight!
As the Spring 2014 couture shows in Paris came to an end...I give you my top five trends.
Although I realize that it's hard to take inspiration from couture to our daily lives...lord knows I won't be prancing around in a Maison Martin Margiela face mask any time soon, here are some trends that are totally street appropriate.
Get Your Head In The Game
From the runway to Rue de Rivoli, sneakers arenʼt just made for the courts anymore.
Who more than Chanel do we need to look to for our top trend this spring?! Letʼs keep it comfortable and throw on sneakers to wear with anything from jeans to dresses.
Tiny Bold Dancer
Showing your bold side and wearing a tutu is the way to go this Spring...according to Giambattista Valli and Valentino. Bold shapes will help you make the statement youʼve always wanted to this season and these short dresses are surely to make you twirl! Okay, okay this may be my 'favorite' trend of all!
Sheer Genius
From Elie Saab, to Valentino, to Vionnet, we saw this trend hit hard in Paris and if you saw the Grammy's a few nights ago you know it was all over the red carpet as well.
Sheer is good... but make sure you leave some bits to the imagination!
Show a Little Leg
From Alexandre Vauthier to Zuhair Murad no one was afraid of a thigh high slit a la Angelina Jolie. If you have good gams... show em!
Floral
Surprise!!!! Spring always calls for a whole lotta floral but Elie Saab and Christian Dior kept the floral monochromatic and subtle this season. Floral is a
great way to show your feminine side but if you're more of the rocker down town girl stick with the dark hues from Dior and pair them with your favorite moto jacket!
