In honor of London Fashion Week, I decided to dust off my tartan suit and pay tribute to my two favorite prints form across the Atlantic, "plaid" and the "Union Jack".
My love for plaid dates back to my uniforms days as a school girl in the former USSR. Well, that and I'm a total product of the 90's! Gwen Stefani, Sex Pistols (although not the 90's), Nirvana, Tank Girl and The Cure (which was my first concert by the way) all totally influence this look. Although I've worn plaid from childhood through my teens, I find this look to be more suitable for my current "adult" era and obviously it's bit more refined. I call it, The Oxford Scholar!
Being that the 90's, plaid and Anglomania are back in full force for Fall 2013, of course I had to throw my Union Jack clutch in there by my favorite
Britt, Lee Alexander McQueen. I am obsessed with this print, it's been known to make an appearance in my wardrobe for years and also is the main theme in my son's room.
I am beyond excited for this fall's fashion!
Find some London street style pics here. A couple of tartans even make the cut.
